Hi, I’m Danial. Pleasure to e-meet you!

I am a Bay Area native from Fremont, California currently studying Honors Management Information Systems at San Jose State University. I use data, empathy and collaboration to create solutions to problems and do my best to make the world a little bit less confusing while doing so.

I am a designer, researcher, lifelong learner and sports enthusiast! I also love nature I am VERY passionate about coffee.

From making my own comics and very low budget Pokémon YouTube videos with a DS and a dream as a preteen to illustrating and photography as a young adult, I’ve always loved the process of creating. I love product design because it exists at the intersection of art, business and technology, where creativity and science come together to solve real human problems.

My Design Philosphy

I believe that great design starts with understanding people. You can’t design a meaningful product without immersing yourself in the lives, frustrations, and goals of the people you’re building for. That’s why user research is always my starting point it’s the foundation for empathy and clarity. Once I understand who I’m helping and why, I can design with confidence, curiosity, and care.

My favorite part of the process is iteration the constant cycle of testing, learning, and refining. One of my favorite quotes is from Mike Tyson, “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.” No matter how strong an idea looks on paper, reality always delivers feedback you didn’t expect. That’s where the real design happens, in adapting, evolving, and finding the solution that actually works for people.

Design, for me, isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress, listening deeply, learning quickly, and improving continuously.

When I’m not designing or studying I am probably…

  • Drawing or hiking! or both! and definitely taking pictures of birds!

  • Working out/playing sports (big football, basketball, hockey and pickleball guy)

  • Catching the latest Warriors, Niners, Sharks or Manchester United game (unfortunately 2 of these teams aren’t very good at the moment…)

  • Watching movies (Lord of the Rings, Dune 2, Spiderverse series and Goodfellas are my favorites)

  • Reading (just started the A Song of Ice and Fire series)

  • Cooking or making a cappuccino

  • Working on some side project! I am currently making a magazine just for fun, learning a lot about page composition through this one.
